Family & Relationship Law
Kristi advises in all areas of family law matters such as matrimonial property and de facto property settlement, relationship law (including same-sex relationships), parenting orders and divorce. Kristi appears at Court regularly and has significant experience at negotiating positive outcomes in family law matters.
Kristi was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Tasmania in 2002 and joined Simmons Wolfhagen in the same year. She practised primarily in civil litigation for the first three years of her career but on moving to Queensland in 2005 she practised solely in family law. Kristi returned to Hobart in 2007 and returned to practise with Simmons Wolfhagen in the Family & De Facto Relationship Law department. In January 2011 Kristi became a partner of the firm and is now head of the Family & De Facto Relationship Law department.
Kristi is a member of the Law Society of Tasmania, the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and is a committee member of the Family Law Practitioners Association of Tasmania.
When not at work, Kristi enjoys sports, home renovations and gardening.
Kristi is currently on maternity leave and is due to return to work in April 2012. Christine Tilley, who currently works as a family law consultant with Simmons Wolfhagen and was previously a long standing Partner of the firm, is managing Kristi’s family law practice during Kristi’s absence
