Neil graduated from the University of Tasmania with combined degrees in Economics and Law. He was admitted as a Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania in 1984 and enrolled on the Registry of the High Court of Australia in 1987. He was a Partner in Clerk Walker from 1990 until 2012, when he joined Simmons Wolfhagen as a Consultant.
Neil is a past President of The Law Society of Tasmania and The Medico-Legal Society of Tasmania and is currently a Commissioner of the Legal Aid Commission of Tasmania.
Neil specialises in securities enforcement and estate litigation and also advises on matters including professional negligence and indemnity and general commercial litigation. He also conducts a commercial practice.
