Penelope practises in local government law, environmental and planning law, and appears for councils as well as developers and representors in the Resource Management and Planning Appeals Tribunal and the Supreme Court of Tasmania. She advises corporate and government clients on issues of local government law, interpretation of statutes, and in administrative and public law, including judicial review.
Penelope regularly appears in courts and tribunals representing clients in prosecutions, defence work, and in civil disputes. She has been a speaker at seminars run by the Local Government Association of Tasmania and for the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors on topics that include enforcement proceedings and prosecutions, and building legislation.
Penelope is also experienced in the areas of commercial litigation, building disputes, fisheries offences, negligence actions, and alternative dispute resolution.
Penny is a member of the Law Society of Tasmania and secretary of the Tasmanian Women Lawyers.
