Ali predominantly practices in the area of Family Law, including the areas of parenting, property, and child support.

Ali also represents parents and children in Child Safety applications and regularly provides advice in relation to family violence matters.

Ali understands the complex nature of Family Law and prides herself on providing holistic advice to her clients, taking into consideration dispute resolution alternatives, cost benefit/analysis and the impact family circumstances and family violence can have on clients.

Ali has prior experience working at the Australian Taxation Office, Child Support Agency and at the Magistrates Court of Tasmania, which has provided Ali with an invaluable foundation of knowledge of these organisations’ policies and processes.

Ali has been involved in numerous committees and groups throughout her career and has previously occupied the position of Co-President of the Southern Young Lawyers Committee and Chair of the Child Safety Sub-committee. Ali has also previously volunteered for the Hobart Community Legal Service.

Ali is a well-known and involved member of the wider profession, she was the ‘Mistress of Ceremonies’ at the Tasmanian Women Lawyer’s Gala Dinner in 2022, won the State Golden Gavel competition and competed in Brisbane in the national finals in 2021, and was runner-up in the state competition in the two years prior.

Ali graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Sciences with Honours in Law. She completed her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the Tasmania Centre for Legal Studies and is admitted to the Supreme Court of Tasmania, and the High Court of Australia.
