Kate is a member of the firm’s local government team.

Kate specialises in governance matters, including the local government regulatory framework, Council meeting procedures, Council By-Laws and policies, Right to Information (RTI) applications and conflict of interest matters. Prior to joining the firm, Kate was employed at the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPAC) within the Local Government Division as part of the project team conducting the review of the Local Government Legislative Framework.

Kate is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a former President of the Heart Foundation of Australia (Tasmania Division) and Director of the National Heart Foundation of Australia. She is a current Board member of the Corpus Christi Catholic School Advisory Board and Vice President of the Eastern Shore Saints Junior Soccer Club.

Prior to joining the firm’s local government team, Kate advised clients in relation to Wills and estate planning, probate and estate administration and matters arising under the Tasmanian Civil & Administrative Tribunal (TASCAT) Guardianship stream. She has undertaken two law reform projects with the Tasmanian Law Reform Institute.

Kate has been a member the Law Society’s Continuing Professional Development Committee and Elder and Succession Law Committee and is a past co-Chair of the Tasmanian Young Lawyers’ Committee (Southern Branch).
